I used to buy a pack of coffee scrub with different ingredients and fancy coarser coffee beans and I like it. I don't really take care of my skin but that coffee scrub is great but sometimes I just want a quick bath before going to sleep so I don't do scrub regularly.
Few days ago I had this idea to use the used coffee grounds as a scrub. It's an ordinary one I bought at the supermarket, I'm just curious so I tried it. I used it right after I drink it without drying it first or adding few things. I just like coffee and I think it feels great!
I think the coffe scrub does its job well. My skin feels smoother and "infused" with coffee. I smell like coffee! I rarely used body lotion or things like that but it feels great after. Feels like it's softer and has natural oil. Usually it feels dry after I took a bath, not the dry skin feeling but more like squeaky feeling )you understand right?)
It smells GREAT! Unless you dislike coffee, this thing is not for you. I like the smell of coffee and using it as a scrub is not too overpowering but I can smell it from time to time so it's great!
It's CHEAP. Basically I think I do well because I can both drink and use it as a scrub when bathing. Of course you shouldn't scrub everyday because it'll be bad for your skin. I use the coffee grounds all over my body except my hair. But I heard coffee does good to your hair too but I'm not sure. My hair gets oily fast so with this coffee scrub it might feels more oily and that's not good if I want to wash my hair every other day.
There are quite down side about this coffee scrub but I'm not a pro, I just think it does good for me. The downside I could think of so far:
It might clogged your bathroom. I don't know but it might so you have to take precaution before doing it regularly. Clogged bathroom is annoying.
It might not be suitable for oily skin. I feel oily but refreshed because my skin is kinda dry but I don't think it'll do well for those who have oily skin.
It's dirty. If you don't wash well the coffee grounds can get to your clothes, your bedsheets, and everything. So you have to make sure to wash well.
Well, that's what I got from my own experience. I heard they also can get rid of cellulite but I haven't done a good research on it. Most of the things I read on the internet is you use olive oil (or any kind of oil) or honey to it but I don't like the feeling after using the scrub because I usually don't use soap after the scrub (simply because I like the feeling) and it feels clean enough.
I'm also trying to use less shampoo and maybe soap but I don't think I can't....
